The Problem
Having been influenced by their American parent company (based in New Jersey, USA) and experience gained from the build and daily use of their first UK factory built in 1991, JEB Engineering Design (JEB) were well aware of the beneficial effects of air conditioning and made the decision to install air conditioning as standard throughout their second English factory when it was built in 1996.
Having obtained numerous quotations for the installation of air conditioning and the on-going maintenance contract at the factory, JEB chose EOC Services as their preferred supplier based on the professionalism of their approach to the tender, their project planning and attention to detail.
The Solution
The original factory had been fitted with gas powered air conditioning but it was deemed the newer air source heat pump systems would be more appropriate for the second factory. The systems installed by EOC Services has been in place since 1996 and with regular servicing is still working effectively today. The systems were designed to operate in offices and dry workshop atmospheres to maintain a constant temperature.
The biggest benefit, state JEB, that air conditioning offers the company is increased staff productivity. The factory operates two 12 hour shifts a day, seven days a week. If the temperature is too hot, or it is too humid, productivity will decrease throughout a shift. Air conditioning will significantly improve the internal conditions, ensuring staff remain productive.
